PERMANENT MAKEUP BROWS

For upcoming events or travel, please schedule your appointment at least 3 weeks in advance to allow for proper healing.

Begin hydrating upon booking.

Please avoid tweezing, threading, or waxing your brows at least 5 days before the appointment to avoid skin sensitivity and the natural shape of the eyebrow can be assessed.

You will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle and it's encouraged to not schedule your appointment during that time.

Feel free to bring your AirPods and dress comfortably.

You're welcome to come with your brow makeup on so I can see the everyday look you prefer.

Feeling nervous is normal! The service wont move forward without your approval.

3 Weeks Before

  • Avoid ALL anti-aging ingredients harsh acids and brow growth serums. Use of these products can increase redness, bleeding, bruising, or sensitivity. Please check your products for the following: Retinol, Retinoid, Retin-A, Vitamin A, and Vitamin C, AHA, BHA, skin lightening or bleaching products, Salicylic and Glycolic acids
  • No skin treatments: microneedling, peels, lasers, microdermabrasion, strong exfoliants, etc.
  • No botox or fillers in the forehead and brow areas, and 4-6 weeks after

2 Weeks Before

  • Must be off antibiotics and steroids

1 Week Before

  • Avoid tanning to assess your natural skin tone. Sunburnt skin will be rescheduled

3 Days Before

  • No blood thinners- aspirin, advil, ibuprofen, fish oils, vitamin e, garlic, niacin, turmeric, ginger, cayenne pepper, etc. Check your supplements and medications- check with doctor.
  • Lightly exfoliate your brows

48 Hours Before

  • No Alcohol

24 Hours Before

  • No Caffeine (coffee, decaf, tea, and energy drinks/shots/gels).

If proper after care is not followed the client can expect a less than desirable result with any permanent makeup technique. Please wash your hands before touching your brows. Do not use anything beyond what’s written in the aftercare on the brows in order to prevent possible infections or allergic reactions.

Washing instructions will be provided at the appointment.

Activities to Avoid for 14 days:

  • No Sweating. Excessive sweating from exercising or heat exposure will disrupt healing and pigment retention, this includes being outdoors, hot steamy showers, saunas, hot tubs, steam rooms.
  • No swimming. Avoid submerging your head or getting your brows / forehead wet outside of instructed washing (swimming in any body of water, shower, etc.)
  • No sun exposure to the face/ brow area during the healing process. Hats are a must to shield your brows from the sun. After the initial 14 days have passed, sunscreen can be applied to the brows, and wearing a hat is still encouraged as you please. Tanning bed use or excessive UV ray exposure at any point after having brows tattooed will result in discoloration and fading.
  • No picking, itching or scratching the brows! This will pull out the pigment permanently.
  • No lotions, serums, sunscreen, non-gentle cleansers, or makeup on or near the brows until flaking has completely finished. To ensure the top layer of the skin has healed, allow a total of 14 days before resuming these products.
  • Always let estheticians know of any permanent makeup procedures before receiving services
  • Avoid sleeping directly on the brows for 7 days. Arrange pillows around the body to prevent turning over.
  • No aesthetic or dermatological treatments on or near the brows for 4 weeks.
  • ABSOLUTELY NO anti-aging products or acid exfoliants can be used near the brows after treatment. Use of Retinol / Retin-A / Tretinoin / Vitamin A / oils / acids will result in lightening and color shifting of pigment. You will need laser removal and touchups will be denied. Applying from the eyes down is safe.

After two weeks, it is safe to apply light makeup and sunscreen. To maintain your brows long term, incorporate daily sunscreen application into your skincare routine. A broad-spectrum SPF 50, one that leaves no white cast, is recommended.

Slight burning and itching in the early days is normal. Do not scratch the area. When the edema is gone, redness may last up to 20-40 days. After redness subsides the stretch marks will appear darker than the surrounding natural skin tone. The final result may occur between 60-90 days, we will asses the need of another session after 60 days. In some cases it can take longer to heal; healing can extend up to 120 days if needed.

Clients that are very prone to hyperpigmentation, extremely fair skinned clients (Fitz Patrick 1), slower healing clients, and clients over the age of 50 healing may exceed 120 days.

Vegans and vegetarians may experience longer healing, over 120 days.

WEEK 1

NO swimming or soaking- ocean, pools, bathtub, hot tub, etc.

NO saunas or steam rooms

NO sweating- no exercise or working out, avoid spicy foods

For 10 days- Wear loose clothing on the treatment area to avoid friction and irritation. Avoid tight-fitting clothing as much as possible.

FOR THE DURATION OF HEALING 60-90 days, up to 120 days

  • NO sun exposure for the entire healing process on the treated area- sun exposure is safe as long as the treated area is fully shielded from the sun.
  • No picking or scratching the area
  • Continue to moisturize the area to keep the skin hydrated

  • Keep your brows DRY. Don't let the brows soak in water, stay wet for more than a few minutes, and don’t allow the scabs to get soft and fall/wipe off.
  • No bathing, swimming, saunas, hot tubs, tanning, or exercise.
  • Withhold from any activities that would cause sweating until the scabs  have completely fallen off naturally. No exceptions.
  • DO NOT disrupt the scabbing process (no picking, scratching, etc).

Initial Healing- 7-10 days (dependent on scabbing, no sweating etc). 8 weeks in between sessions, no exceptions.

All scabbing needs to fall off naturally. If you force or pick a scab off you will disrupt the process and possibly cause scarring.

It is critical to keep the scabs on as long as possible to achieve optimum results.

Scabbing starts around day 4, and fall off on their own around day 7.

Time frame can could be shorter or longer, skin responds differently in every individual. If the brows feel dry and flaky after day 7 please keep the area dry until it naturally stops.

  • Once all scabbing has naturally fallen off apply one drop of vitamin E oil 3 times a day for a minimum of 4 weeks, or until the next lightening session. DO NOT start applying the vitamin E oil until all scabbing has naturally and completely fallen off.
