FOR NEW CLIENTS
Please review before booking an appointment. You may not be a good candidate if you have any of the conditions below. Please communicate with your doctor and obtain a doctor's note if necessary. For general questions please email morbrowsstudio@gmail.com.
Book When Healed:
At your first appointment, we’ll discuss your brow goals, preferred shape, color, and style. I’ll map your brows based on your facial features, both sitting and lying down, to ensure symmetry. Once you approve the shape, we’ll move on to color matching and begin the tattooing process.
Appointment time:
Before you leave, we’ll go over aftercare instructions, you'll be provided an aftercare kit, and schedule your 8–10 week touch-up.
Healing Process:
Healing Timeline:
Immediately After- Brows will appear slightly irritated and swollen but will subside within 24 hours.
First 2 weeks- The skin is open and the brows will appear about 40% darker for the first several days due to the pigment oxidizing. Mild soreness, tightness, itching, or stinging for a few days is normal. It's crucial to follow aftercare instructions. No other products should be used on the brows besides the healing balm provided in the aftercare bag. (Please see aftercare instructions).
Week 2-3- The epidermis has closed and most permanent makeup appears to look much lighter as it's been "encapsulated" with new skin. Please continue to wear a hat, and at this stage it's safe to apply a little amount of makeup and sunscreen on the brow area.
Week 4- Pigment has settled and neutralized to its natural color towards the end of week 4. Due to natural skin regeneration clients may notice patchiness, which might make the brows look uneven or too light. All skin types handle pigment differently and will be addressed at the touch up. The second appointment consists of reinforcing the shape and fine tuning the color to get that perfect finish.
Permanent Makeup Emotions:
Day 1: OMG! I love my new brows!
Day 2-4: OH NO! They're so dark and thick! *tear*
Day 5-7: My brows are falling off!
Day 8-10: Um... my brows are gone...?
Day 11-34: My brows are coming back! But they look. a little patchy and uneven.
After second session: YAY! I love my new brows even more now!
The procedure can take 2-4 sessions for successful results, in rare cases 5-6.
During the appointment no numbing is applied as it can disrupt the skin and effect the effectiveness of the treatment. Discomfort can fluctuate depending on the area treated, usually a 4 out of 10.
After the appointment- It's very important to follow aftercare instructions to ensure proper healing. The skin will go through stages of healing, and sending weekly photos is encouraged to answer questions and supply you with the best plan.
Clients will leave the appointment red and inflamed and specks of blood underneath the surface may be visible. The skin will feel warm and sensitive to the touch. All of this is normal and expected.
Slight burning and itching in the early days is normal. Do not scratch the area. When the edema is gone, redness may last up to 20-40 days. After redness subsides the stretch marks will appear darker than the surrounding natural skin tone. The final result may occur between 60-90 days, we will asses the need of another session after 60 days. In some cases it can take longer to heal; healing can extend up to 120 days if needed.
Clients that are very prone to hyperpigmentation, extremely fair skinned clients (Fitz Patrick 1), slower healing clients, and clients over the age of 50 healing can take upwards of 120 days.
Vegans and vegetarians may experience longer healing, over 120 days.
For specific after care information, please visit "Pre-Care & Aftercare" in the menu bar.
A pre-numbing cream will be applied before the procedure to minimize discomfort. Once the area is numb, the numbing agent is removed and the saline solution is carefully implanted into the skin using a tattoo machine. This process is performed in small sections to ensure even saturation.
After several passes, the brows are coated with additional saline solution, which is left to sit for several minutes before being wiped away. During this time, you may experience mild stinging or a slight burning sensation — this is normal and typically subsides within a couple of minutes. A handheld fan will be provided for your comfort throughout the process.
After Service: The skin may feel tender, with some swelling and irritation possible during the first 48 hours before gradually subsiding. Irritation can appear slightly pink to red, depending on your skin type, so it’s best to avoid scheduling any events immediately after your appointment.
After care instructions and supplies will be provided.
During this time and for the next 7-10 days it's important to follow aftercare to ensure the saline continues to work after you leave the studio.
Follow up appointments must be scheduled 8 weeks apart.
Previous PMU or work done by other artists/ studios must be faded at least 80% to be accepted.
Color corrections are not offered at MOR, as they’ve proven ineffective long term. Previous PMU is accepted on a case-by-case basis and requires a consultation to determine if lightening is needed before new pigment can be applied. The skin can only hold so much pigment before results look muddy or unnatural, leading to more issues and added costs. No guarantees are made, and additional sessions may be necessary to achieve optimal results, with extra charges applied.
PMU techniques and products are always evolving, and pigment retention varies from person to person. On average, results can last 12–24 months, sometimes up to 3+ years before a touch up is needed. Oily skin types may require more frequent maintenance. For returning clients, brows should be at least 80% faded to qualify for a color boost session.
Different factors affect the longevity of the pigment that are outside of the artist's control:
Protect your investment! Keep those brows looking fresh and vibrant by making sunscreen part of your daily routine. Use a tattoo-specific SPF stick or a broad-spectrum SPF 50 face stick that won’t leave a white cast for easy, mess-free protection. Your future brows will thank you!
Not completely! So don't ditch your brow products just yet! PMU is not meant to be a complete substitute for makeup- IT'S LOW maintenance NOT NO maintenance. There will be times, as your brows gradually fade, that you will touch up certain areas with make up or apply a bolder brow for an event. When you wash your makeup off you will still have fuller brows that passes the natural vibe check.
As an artist I love the natural, "no makeup" makeup look, and strive to naturally enhance the client's features.
